Robert Maschio was born on 25 August 1966 in New York City, New York, U.S.A. He is the son of a lawyer. He was raised in Syosset, Long Island. He studied at the Syosset High School. After this, he went to do his graduation from Columbia University, New York. He completed his graduation in 1988, and during his senior year, he started performing in musical theatre.
He acted in the plays like ‘Pippin‘, ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘The Mystery of Edwin Drood’. He attached himself with the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre after passing out from the college. There he studied under the guidance of Sanford Meisner, the one who developed the Meisner technique. After this, he started his career in acting from the Synchronicity Space, the Actor’s Studio and The American Place Theatre. He appeared in many plays in these theatre and also started writing and performing stand-up comedies.
Gradually, the graph of his acting career began to rise and he made guest appearance in TV shows like ‘Bram and Alice’, ‘Spin City‘ and ‘Veronica Mars’. He got a chance to act in the role of “Dr. Todd ‘The Todd’ Quinlan’ in ‘Scrubs‘, which became quite a popular character of the series. In 2006, he appeared on ‘As The World Turns’, a daytime soap in which he plays a rapist.
