Judy Reyes was born on 5 November 1967 in Bronx, New York. She is of a Dominican descent. She has a twin sister named Joselin, besides having three more sisters. Her twin sister is an actress. Judy is the cousin of model/artist Viancey. She has studied at the Hunter College in Manhattan. She is the wife of writer/director Edwin M. Figueroa. In September 2006, she had a fall which resulted in a fracture in the hip that affected the shooting of an episode of ‘Scrubs’.
She has acted in ‘The Sopranos’, ‘Oz‘ and in ‘The Fuzz Show’. Her role as a nurse, named Carla Espinosa, in ‘Scrubs‘ earned her much recognition. She has also appeared in some films like ‘Bringing Out The Dead’, ‘Be Back By Five’ and ‘Went To Coney Island On A Mission From God’. She co-produced and appeared in the short film, ‘Taino‘.
